April 17 Expo park, May 15 Helena Airport, June 5 Expo Park, June 26 Helena Airport, July 17 TBA, Sept 17-18 TOP GUN Helena Airport, Oct 16 TBA TBA-To Be Announced Our club meetings are at 7:00 on the last Thursday of the month (March 31) at the 10th Av. Hardee’s. Meetings are your best opportunity to make suggestions and ask questions. If you have ideas or a beef come to a meeting. Members and Non Members are welcome. Thank you to all of us who made it out to the last meeting. Hey in case you didn’t know it you have a new Regional Executive and a new Assistant Regional Executive. Jim Messick and Rick Cummings are on the job but Region 105 is still hiring I hope more of us can get involved. Enlist now or be drafted on race day. Some positions you can pick from are- Tec, Registration, Timekeeper, Secretary/Treasurer, Competition chairperson, If you have held one of these positions in the past please don’t apply we want fresh blood. Also if you want to help but cannot commit let us know we need part-timers as well. Our first event will be interesting, as of now I have nobody in place to register, tech, and take care of the stuff we need to get the day started. Don’t forget about our two new rule changes –Tires, if it’s a DOT (must be DOT stamped) there isn’t a bump in package points –Penalties 2 seconds instead of 5 for dispatching cones. Other News and Stuff We need Safety Stewards if you’re interested in keeping us safe let the board know and we will get you signed-up. Big Sky Region (Missoula) is hosting the NORPAC SOLO II divisional this August 20-21 in Helena. Some of us are going to lend a hand if you want to get in on the action let Jim know. This year we are adopting the rules from Chouteau County for the Demo Derby. We’ve made arrangements to store the club trailer at the Expo. Missoula bought a “new” trailer and it’s being stored at the Helena site, they are letting all SCCA clubs borrow it. We are going to help stock it with solo II paraphernalia The club purchased a new leaf blower to use instead of a broom; if it works well for clearing the track of debris we will get a second one. The web page isn’t up to snuff but we are working on making it better, in fact it has some new info already. ? Do you care if we print your name and phone number in the next panic slip? Some members have requested contact info on other club members. Please call or e-mail me (Jim) at home if you do not want your name out there. Therefore this might be your last Panic Slip if you’re not a member of the Montana Region 105 of the SCCA. Were going to use the member list for a mailing list. The web page will be a better resource for nonmembers to find information. Doug Herold compiled an event schedule from the other regions. So if you have the bug to mow down cones instead of the lawn on Sunday, you can! Thank you Doug.
